blew a tire half way during my ride

replaced the tube but now the tire is spinning alittle lumpy

think maybe time to get some new tires

i’m guessing a slight tear in the sidewall or something

rides is still okay, but the last thing i need is the tire ripping apart on me

energy is down

over-cycled myself these couple days

even fell off my bike just standing around at the signal

toe clip!!

ordered a pizza and chicken strips and salad and a big coke zero

stuffing myself and taking a break tomorrow

gotta get the fat cells replenished

i guess charles isn’t doing too bad on his bike

was at the bike shop and got invited to go ride with a bunch of guys saturday night

the shop tech was curious how good of a cyclist i was with all my expensive gear

a really nice guy, the shop tech, but he definitely saw me as one of those doods with all the gear but no game

5 guys showed up, including the shop tech, and some old guy, pretty strong looking and cocky

apparently some seasoned weekend racer he was

did two climbs, namsan mountain and bukak skyway

we warmed up going up namsan

the shop tech was already out of fume by the time we got up namsan

and the old dude was sprinting about showing us how fast and strong he was

got to bukak skyway

the old dude took off

shop tech, already out of energy, pushed me to try and follow him up

i hesitated for a bit, cuz the guy was going pretty dang fast, but okay, what the heck

half way up the skyway i caught up to him

the guy burned out going over the mid-ridge and i took off on him

looked back and he was no where to be seen

i beat him to the top by two minutes flat

now the cocky old dude wants me to join his club and go racing with him on sundays

hahaha

feels good to be respected for your hard work

especially from old cocky jocks like him

out cycling with randy

randy helped me buy my bike in NY

he used to be a pro cyclist, so a bit of an expert on bikes

he was alittle sick, so just cruising, but still 40 miles up and down the city

randy says charles is strong and charles is fast

gave charles the nod of approval

charles very happy to hear that from randy

hopefully we can ride more later

haven’t biked for a week

three laps up namsan

needed the stress relief

will be doing more of it tomorrow

rain or shine

bought me a new helmet today too

the other helmet i bought a month ago gave me crazy pimples

something definitely wrong with the straps

still have zits all right along the strap line

so much for the expensive helmet with new breathable synthetic straps

i think my skin’s no good with the synthetic material

haven’t had this much zits since highschool

so went and bought a regular helmet with regular straps

like my old helmet

hopefully that will do the trick

oh yea, my bike is fixed!

replaced the broken seat clamp

and broken stem bolt got replaced by bike shop

can’t wait for more bike time tomorrow

ride it hard enough and things will break

good thing i was near my home

and good thing i was going slow

hopefully nothing else breaks off

and hopefully not while i’m going fast

alittle bit disconcerting though…

summer seems to have finally rolled over its peak

its finally getting cool in the evenings

no longer the long summer days with the only difference between day and night

was light and dark

and the temperature stayed constantly and miserably hot and humid

now the sun goes down and there is a breeze

the temperature drops

and humidity takes alittle nap

a very hot but quick summer i have to say

i have a circle of zits on my face

it traces where the helmet strap and pads touched my face during my rides

too much sweating in the sun

its kind of getting out of control… the zits… i feel like i’m in highschool again

i look like i’m in highschool again

the zits i mean, haha

so yeah, i’m glad summer is on its way out
