bought me a new helmet today too

the other helmet i bought a month ago gave me crazy pimples

something definitely wrong with the straps

still have zits all right along the strap line

so much for the expensive helmet with new breathable synthetic straps

i think my skin’s no good with the synthetic material

haven’t had this much zits since highschool

so went and bought a regular helmet with regular straps

like my old helmet

hopefully that will do the trick

oh yea, my bike is fixed!

replaced the broken seat clamp

and broken stem bolt got replaced by bike shop

can’t wait for more bike time tomorrow

good thing i was near my home

and good thing i was going slow

hopefully nothing else breaks off

and hopefully not while i’m going fast

alittle bit disconcerting though…

summer seems to have finally rolled over its peak

its finally getting cool in the evenings

no longer the long summer days with the only difference between day and night

was light and dark

and the temperature stayed constantly and miserably hot and humid

now the sun goes down and there is a breeze

the temperature drops

and humidity takes alittle nap

a very hot but quick summer i have to say

i have a circle of zits on my face

it traces where the helmet strap and pads touched my face during my rides

too much sweating in the sun

its kind of getting out of control… the zits… i feel like i’m in highschool again

i look like i’m in highschool again

the zits i mean, haha

so yeah, i’m glad summer is on its way out

bought brother-in-law a bike

he’s been wanting to cycle for a while

aluminum frame but all the components are top grade

he’s coming by tomorrow so i can fit him

hopefully it wont rain tomorrow and we can bike a couple hours ^^

one of the hottest and most humid days of this summer

that i can recall

it rained so much last night

today and tonight

not one bit of dust in the air

can see for miles and miles

clear

crisp

beautiful

but really sweaty and yucky

average speed over almost 2 hours: 18.06 mph

after a really full day of work and all this damn humidity and heat

not so bad i have to say, huh?

i’m thinking the new seat and handlebar position really doing some good

would be nice if i had my 300 dollar carbon fiber stupid stem!

super busy at work

so gave myself a reward

a 300 dollar carbon fiber bike stem

with non corrosive titanium bolts

finally came by mail saturday

came home all jolly to install it on my bike

grabbed my trusty torque wrench

lets see, 5nm torque spec on all the bolts

so set the torque wrench to 5nm

tightened the bolts and..

CLINK!

-

bolt breaks!

broken bolt flies off and ricochets off the wall

almost knocks my eyes out

now stuck with

a broken titanium bolt

the broken end of the bolt stuck in the bolt nut

a 300 dollar carbon fiber bike stem with no bolt and nut to tighten it

this is going to be a pain to replace

these internet companies don’t know the first thing about warranty

they’re probably just going to tell me to fook off

so i emailed the manufacturer to see if i can get some help from them

they replied right back

i have to go through the place where i bought it…

and on the manufacturer’s website

extra bolt kits are out of stock

why do i get the feeling this is not going to be easy…
